Data on the Licensed Capacity tab are as follows: 2026 data are Carsey School of Public Policy analysis of NH DHHS Bureau of Child Development & Head Start Collaboration data (March 25, 2026). 2024 data are from the September 2024 New Hampshire Child Care Profile report from the Bureau of Child Development and Head Start Collaboration. 2022 data are from a NH DHHS request to the Governor to use federal funds to strengthen child care. All other program capacity data are from the 2021 NH Market Rate Survey

Data on the Care v Need Gap tab are as follows: Licensed Capacity are from Carsey School of Public Policy analysis of NH DHHS Bureau of Child Development & Head Start Collaboration data (March 25, 2026). Population estimates of children under 6 in need of care are from: U.S. Census ACS 2024 5-year estimates: Table B23008: Age of Own Children Under 18 in Families and Subfamilies by Living Arrangements by Employment Status of Parents. Data represent the number of children under 6 living in two parent households in which both parents work, or living in single parent households in which that parent works.
