This is a composite measure of housing instability. A child was scored as having “Experienced housing instability” if they ever experienced homelessness or lived in a shelter, if their caregiver missed a mortgage payment in the past year, or if they have lived in 3 or more places or moved 2 or more times in the past 12 months.
